The Atlanta SF Model show was held on February 1 and 2 in Lawrenceville GA.
The show was fun for all involved! It was good to see so many familiar faces and meet many new ones.
There were more science fiction kits than ever, and the quality continues to
improve. As you can see by all the photos, there was a wide variety of subjects on display in the show.
A number of the Sci Fi Modeling Guild took awards!
Congratulations to Joe Brown, Mike Steward, Kirk Schermerhorn, Jonathan Strickland and anyone else I may have forgotten.
Jonathan Strickland won the CultTVman Award for best SF Vehicle for his
Fine Molds X Wing.
Polar Lights kits were selling very well. Robby the Robot continues to sell briskly as do the aftermarket parts like Altaira and the Space Babe.
The Fine Molds X Wing was a hot topic of discussion and the few kits at the show sold out quickly.
PNT Models had their new NX-01 on display and a limited number of kits availible. This
was the nices 1/1400 scale kit I have seen. This model was incredibly detailed.
The new Creature Arts kit of Kevin McCarthy was also debuted at the show and warmly recieved.
